Søren Arildsen

Bio

Søren Arildsen’s figurative visual language explores central themes of intimacy, memory, and introspection. His works often blend scenes from everyday life with imaginative elements, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. By merging personal memories with imaginative characters placed in different painterly spaces, he captures moments of stillness and warmth. Through these scenes, Arildsen highlights the depth of human connections, encouraging us to explore the subtle details of form, color, and meaning within his works. At the same time, he subtly questions our perception of reality and examines social norms through delicate symbolism.

As a painter, Arildsen is deeply engaged with the potential of color and the influence of art history on contemporary painting. He actively explores various genres, from classical motifs and compositions to techniques inspired by the postimpressionist movement. Primarily working with painting and printmaking, Arildsen also expands his creative practice to materials such as handmade porcelain frames, stucco on canvas, and textiles.
