Bricks Gallery proudly presents SINGLE ITEMS – a solo presentation featuring new screen prints by Morten Buch.
The show engages the entire gallery space, through the use of screen printed wallpaper, mirrors and ten new editions on paper. The title SINGLE ITEMS ambigiously refers to both Buch’s habit of isolating objects and at the same time repeating them into an absurd iconography. Screen print is a favoured printing medium of Morten Buch. The exhibition SINGLE ITEMS marks his return to this medium, after a two year long investigation of monotypes, resulting in two acclaimed museum exhibitions at Kastrupgårdsamlingen (2018) and Horsens Kunstmuseum (2019).
Morten Buch (born 1970, Denmark) ranks amongst the foremost exponents of a resurgent generation of scandinavian painters. His work revisits artistic traditions of Danish and American origin and projects its expressivity onto figurative images that are today rendered unfamiliar through the language of mass media.
