Bricks Gallery is delighted to present Lite Galbi, an online exhibition by Jakob Steen
In Lite Galbi the imaginary and the real merges together in a unique combination of mono-types on paper, 3D renderings, musical compositions and animations. In this latest body of work, Jakob Steen reflects on the challenges and rewards of his nomadic life, inviting viewers into an intimate look at his singular vision. Through the use of clay, 3D scanning, and rendering, Steen has created a 3D environment for the exhibition, providing a dreamlike glimpse into his artistic mind. All works featured in the exhibition were created at Jakob Steen's current residence and workplace, Oremandsgaard Manor, a rural setting in Denmark.
He explains: “As a kid I spent a great deal of time in hotels all around UK and Scotland, while my parents undertook refurbishments there. Memories of the rooms, corridors, swimming pools, and personel working around them, all seemed like a great theatre that is deeply embedded in my understanding of spaces and the language of communication. I think I quickly understood that my surroundings where very formative and since then my exposure to Copenhagen, the Carribbean and lately my rural surroundings in Oremandsgaard has only further enhanced my worldview as one big stage”
We invite you to join digitally to experience the captivating world of Jakob Steen's Lite Galbi.
